TAPA TSR 1

What is the TAPA TSR

TAPA TSR is a standard of the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) a global association of security professionals and related business partners which unites global manufacturers, logistics providers, freight carriers, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders with the common aim of reducing and preventing losses from international supply chains.

The importance of the TAPA TSR

The TSR standard is for organizations involved in road freight transport operation, recognised as the riskiest part of the supply chain with over 80% of cargo losses reported to the TAPA EMEA Intelligence System (TIS) involving criminal attacks on vehicles.

TSR is divided into two sections

  • policy/procedure
Policy/procedure focuses on written policies and procedures that the company has in place, including some of the resources necessary to carry them out.

  • practice
Practice focuses on the physical aspects of the trucks to be used and the equipment required.

Companies can address both sections simultaneously or separately.

The TAPA TSR specifies:

  • • Minimum acceptable security standards.
  • • Methods to be used to maintain these standards.
  • • Processes and specifications for service providers to follow to attain TAPA EMEA TSR certification for their trucking operations.

    • It is reviewed every three years to ensure it continues to meet validity expectations and to address new or emerging threats to supply chain security.
